The construction of the new Shoalhaven Hospital café reached a significant milestone in April with the pouring of the concrete slab.
As part of the $438 million Shoalhaven Hospital Redevelopment, the new café promises to be a vibrant hub for staff, patients, and the community. Health Infrastructure Project Director Jeremy Hart said more than 53 cubic meters of concrete were poured on Wednesday 3 April 2024, marking a key milestone in the café's construction and another step forward for the hospital redevelopment. “The new café will provide a welcoming space on site where staff, patients and the community can enjoy a coffee, grab some lunch or sit and have a chat,” Mr Hart said. Located near the hospital's main entry, the café will offer both indoor and outdoor seating options. The café space includes high ceilings, large windows providing an abundance of natural light, and views overlooking the hospital's main drop-off area. Work will continue over coming months to establish the form work and scaffolding ahead of pouring concrete for level 3. Artist impression of the new main entry and cafe.
